DirectionGroup, a leading UK technology marketing agency have created a unique concept to wish their clients (and prospects) a happy Christmas and thank them for their support over 2013.

Using Google Street View technology, DirectionGroup partnered with up with approved Google Business Photos Agency, CInsideMedia, to produce a 360º virtual panoramic tour of the inside of their offices – but with Christmas twist!

For the first time ever, Street View, became Reindeer View. DirectionGroup employed the services of ‘Cracker’, a real-life reindeer to lead the virtual tour around their offices. The DirectionGroup team really got into Christmas spirit and dressed up as Santa’s elves, while Mrs Claus led Cracker around the building.

DirectionGroup’s concept used a poetically worded email to drive clients to a specially created microsite that pulled in the virtual tour from Google.

The email communicated that fact that Rudolph (Cracker) had lost his way on his Christmas journey and ended up at DirectionGroup’s door.

They took him in, but lost his carrots. So, the challenge for DirectionGroup’s clients was to have a nose around their offices and locate the 3 missing carrots using the virtual tour.

Once located those carrots would then give Rudolph the energy to complete his Christmas journey, ensuring that all the world’s children got their presents this Christmas.

To give the whole story a happy ending, and to tie the concept and technology back into something truly worthy, DirectionGroup offered to make a donation to ‘Make-A-Wish’ on behalf of their clients, whenever any of them found all 3 carrots.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions. Since being established in the UK in 1986, they have granted more than 8,000 wishes.

The DirectionGroup team had great fun on the day, but even more importantly, created something which is engaging, fun and interactive, is full of Christmas spirit and a real showcase of how they are experts in leveraging technology and creativity.
